October 6, 1918 - Vincent visits

Mary's brother Vincent visits to today from New Jersey to find the three family members still sick.  He reports that he had previously been very sick himself with the flu.  Family lore blames Vincent for passing the illness on to the household members, however his last noted visit was on September 14 for his birthday celebration, over two weeks prior to Agnes's first symptoms on October 2.  Even though he probably had been working at Fort Dix, New Jersey where the flu outbreak had started before it became widespread in Philadelphia, it is very unlikely he was the source of the family's malady.  Agnes' illness started four days after the Fourth Liberty Loan Parade in downtown Philadelphia, after which citywide cases rapidly increased.
