Today Mary treats herself to the movies. While she does not identify the movie, she went to the Victoria Theatre where Woman and the Law starring Miriam Cooper is playing. Miriam Cooper was born in 1891 and died in 1976. Cooper had a prominent role in D.W. Griffith's controversial Birth of a Nation. She married Raoul Walsh in 1916. Walsh directed Woman and the Law, which was based on a real murder that had occurred in 1917. Mary does not comment about the film.
The Victoria Theatre at 913 Market Street opened in 1909, closed in 1949 and was demolished the following year [from cinematreasures.org].
