June 21, 1918 - Fourth of July in France

While Mary continues to test her mettle inspecting rifle triggers, articles appeared in both The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Evening Public Ledger regarding possible plans for the French to celebrate the American Fourth of July.  This from the June 21 Evening Public Ledger:

It turns out that the French (and the British), in solidarity with and appreciation of the United States' involvement in the war did celebrate the Fourth of July in a major way.  See worldwar1centennial.org
