May 5, 1918 - Wanamaker

Today the Wanamaker family visits the O'Neills at the O'Neills 4906 North 11th Street home.  Mary comments about how "Ester grew up to be quite a young lady and also a pianoist."

The Wanamakers, father Charles Franklin and mother Anna Martha along with daughter Esther May were next door neighbors to the O'Neills when the O'Neills lived at 2325 Lehigh Avenue (? West Lehigh) in 1910.  The Wanamakers continued to live at that address into the 1930s. 

Charles Wanamaker and Anna Fasshauer married in Philadelphia in 1903.  Esther was born around 1906 and appears to be their only child.   By 1930 Esther was no longer living with her parents.  Charles died in 1937 at age 64 of postoperative bronchopneumonia after a prostatectomy for benign prostatic hypertrophy.  The fate of Anna and Esther is unclear.
